<\/p>\n\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0From October 30 to 31, 2020, the launch meeting of the National Key R&D Program project \u201cDevelopment of New Models for Urban Rainwater Utilization and Evaluation and Demonstration of Benefits\u201d was held at the Shenzhen Sea Garden Hotel. The project is led by Academician Liu Junguo from the School of Environment at Southern University of Science and Technology. Participating organizations include Lanzhou Jiaotong University, the University of Maryland in the United States, the Dutch Deltares Institute, Nanjing Hydraulic Research Institute, Shenzhen National Climate Observatory, and China Power Construction Group Corporation Limited East China Survey and Design Institute.<\/p>\n
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Attending experts and scholars included Professor Liu Junguo, Vice Dean of the School of Environmental Science and Engineering at Southern University of Science and Technology, Research Associate Professor Tian Zhan, and Visiting Assistant Professor Ye Bin, who hosted the launch meeting as a core member of the leading organization. Other participants included Professor Sun Xiang from the University of Maryland and Academician of the British Academy of Social Sciences, Dr. Ye Qinghua and Dr. Frans H.M. van de Ven from the Dutch Deltares Institute, Professor-level Senior Engineer Wu Shiqiang, Deputy Director of Nanjing Hydraulic Research Institute, Professor-level Senior Engineer Tang Yingdong, Deputy Director of the Water Environment Engineering Department of China Power Construction Group Corporation Limited East China Survey and Design Institute, Professor Sun Sanxiang from Lanzhou Jiaotong University, Director Jin Yi from Gansu Province Soil and Water Conservation Research Institute, and Senior Engineer Chen Shenpeng from Shenzhen Climate Observatory, among more than 40 project backbones.<\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Academician Liu Junguo, the project leader, made detailed arrangements for the project\u2019s progress and scheduled key links and timelines in the project execution process. Visiting Assistant Professor Ye Bin is mainly responsible for Project Task 3, \u201cIdentification of Multi-Dimensional Benefits of Urban Rainwater Utilization and Development of Robust Quantitative Evaluation Technology.\u201d On the evening of the 30th, Assistant Professor Ye Bin presented a research report titled \u201cResearch Progress on Multi-Dimensional Benefit Identification and Robust Quantitative Methodology.\u201d The report covered several aspects, including the research team introduction, technical roadmap of the project task, research progress, future research plans, and potential challenges, with a focus on decision-making methods. It also outlined the work arrangements for the research group members, making full preparations for the successful completion of the project task.<\/p>\n
